How We Provide Support to Non-Profits
Reduced Rates
We understand that depending on the program, the budget for moving services may be limited. We’ve worked to offer either flat rates or reduced-hourly tariffs for the non-profits that work with us.
Confidentiality
A Move To Remember trains its employees to treat clients from emergency situations with confidentiality. Any situation, location, name, or details pertaining to any emergency services are to solely be shared within A Move To Remember, or with parties responsible for the well-being of clients or participants (i.e. case managers.)
Alternative Communication Methods
Email is the best practice for communicating for a Move To Remember. However, we understand the ease of communicating over the phone and have worked to provide that line of communication for our partnerships.
We’re also happy to communicate with participants leading up to their move to support building their life skills of working with movers.
Mediation and Harm Reduction Clause
When A Move to Remember and its employees participate in providing services to a customer, participant, or entity that is associated with housing programs, they are doing so as a professional moving company and as good samaritans. A Move To Remember commits itself to attend training focused on mental health first aid, domestic violence advocacy, sexual assault awareness, general first aid / CPR, and/or other training offered within the LGBT+ community, non-profit sector, or professional world.
Password Protected Accounts
We can assist in setting up accounts with case managers and supervisors in our client portal to ensure clear communication regarding each participant’s move, clear invoice tracking, and any follow-up necessary to moves.
Meetings and Training for Case Managers + Teams
We’re available for meetings to ensure that we’re providing the best services for your organization. That includes any organization updates (from either company), training new case managers to work with our company, and discussing opportunities to assist participants in preparing for their move.
Specific Teams Dispatched for Emergency Moves
We understand that some participants may be going through emergency situations as they navigate moving to safe spaces to live in through their programs. We know some of these emergency situations may require more communication or support throughout the move. We’ve worked with programs to develop safety planning through moves, and have worked to organize a team from our company that would be the most comprehensive team to be able to offer emergency support.
Lyft Transportation Services
We don’t offer rides in our moving trucks with our team.
However, we’re happy to manage rideshare services during the move to help create a smooth trip between both locations.
